Signs

At the goddess conference I went to last month, our womb blessing was very much focused on our matriarchal line and acknowledging out ancestors. I was lucky enough to pose for this photo this week, four generations of women. A couple of cute boys in there too.
Following on from the conference, I was inspired to create an affirmation board this month. I have filled it with things that inspire me, and I look at it in bed, or when I'm doing yoga. I adore it, and the items I have either collected or been given.
It was the full moon last night, and I went to the second of my new circle meetings. Despite my beliefs, and my use of oracle cards, I don't believe in 'signs' - I believe that signs are all around us, but I don't believe they are always interpreted correctly, so it's hard to put much stock in them!

Despite saying that, I knew that Niamh was on her way, before I knew I was preggo, and I knew I was going to get my job at Kiddicare because a colleague in my interview group (who i still work with!) had a tattoo with huge significance for me.
As an aside, I find it strange that I never got any signs or inkings about my fusion (aside from the back ache!), but I often put that down to the fact that I'm still not comfortable with it in my life. Can you actually see signs about things that you want to ignore?!

Anyway! I am trying to change/improve my future at the moment, proper brave changes that require input and determination and I have done a couple of big things towards that in the last week.
Tonight we each pulled oracle cards at the end of circle. I pulled 'Lady luck', the certainty and realisation as I looked at that card struck me as properly as seeing my colleagues tattoo. I just knew.
Maybe I need to re-think how I view signs. Maybe I need to lose some of my cock-sure-ness. Either way, change she is a comin', and Lady Luck is definitely on my side.
Where else would she be?!

Random

A small, random, difficult to write post, to say thank you to the universe. After a couple of years away from organised Wicca, last night I was lucky enough to be invited to share in a new meeting circle, and tomorrow I am going to a local Goddess conference.

There is a thriving Pagan community in Hampshire (as there is everywhere!) and Paul and I were massively active within it until a few years ago. Life moves on, children are born, plans change and you realise that some things aren't as important as they once seemed. We have not kept in touch with many of the old gang, for one reason or another, and I, rightly or wrongly, have always felt quite hard done by. I was never sure if my step back from local organised Paganism was entirely my choice.

Last night was hosted by a lady I have known 10+ years. We have come together and been separate again on many occasions, and when we were asked how we knew each other last night, this lovely lady was able to recount many happy memories of our Pagan escapades before the children arrived.

I said this was a random post!! A post written for me, rather than you Clanettes. Apologies.

Anyway. I really enjoyed last night, I can mix it up any way I like, but ultimately I am most happy in my spiritual skin when I have other people to share it with. I enjoy standing in a circle and feeling alive - and being able to share that with other people who 'get it' and who are also in the moment, is the best bit of all.

Thanks for reading x x

Jelles Festival

Elle and Johny got married... Then a couple of years later they wanted a more personal ceremony and party.. So they organised a festival and asked Paul and I to handfast them.. Which we did last Saturday. It was a glorious day - I hope it was everything they wanted. It was our fourth ceremony! A growing collection of happily marrieds under our belt!!

When Lucy and I went to glasto we sourced and bought altar supplies - I love that you can mock up an altar in Glasto, whilst drinking your latte and no one bats an eyelid!

Whilst camping last week we updated my dress (It was out dated and very 'pagan' - it needed a spruce!) and made corsages to match the altar - not sure what our fellow campers made of that!

And this is how the Christie Clan scrubbed up on the morning of the wedding! Gorgeous if you ask me!

Lochie won a prize for the best dressed child! He was amazing and so patient - folding and sorting, and pinning and wearing a Great Kilt is no mean feat - for man or boy!

The ceremony was not as pagan as we have done in the past, but it was fun and we had great feedback - win win!

There was a falcon display and we all got super excited to hold the birds

Then the afternoon was spent eating glorious food, chatting with friends and enjoying the party!

The happy couple!

Dave was the official photographer

I had feathers in my hair (which I am still sporting! The gold glitter is long gone) and my nails done especially for the occasion

It was a terrific day, a lovely lovely event and we were very happy to be involved.
Massive thank you to Lucy for all your creative input, couldn't have done any of it without you!

Happy handfasting ERD!! JRD!! Enjoy your honeymoon xxxx
